The idea of creating this TV show was born one cold morning by show presenter Milan Radonich & Nikolaj Mathiesen while 3 miles off New Zealand's North Cape in the middle of winter. Their plan was to fish the shallow waters over four days, trying to find some massive fish, hiding out in the winterless north. Within the first morning, they caught massive snapper, trevally and huge kingfish one after another with several fish over 20lbs, the place was just on fire! That's when they decided to put Big Angry Fish on film.

Top Catch has had long partnership with Milan & his crew.  So when it came to selecting a retail fishing partner they saw a chain of fishing tackle shops that employs fishing experts as being a natural fit.
