The Shimano Tyrnos 10 II is a lever drag reel well suited to a variety of New Zealand’s inshore fishing applications, particularly where anglers are wishing to take on kingfish, snapper or tuna with a lightweight, compact and powerful reel capable of withstanding the rigours of protracted battles with large fish on either traditional monofilament or Power Pro lines.
Utilizing Shimano’s two speed lever drag system, the Tyrnos 10 II offers anglers versatility and confidence when targeting kingfish on livebaits or jigs, stray lining big fresh baits and slow jigging for XOS snapper or trolling lures for tuna - this real has it covered.
Having the option of retrieve speeds (6.0:1 and 3.5:1) the angler can select the low gear once hooked up to a stubborn fish to make it easier to gain line back on the reel or high gear when wanting to really crank in a jig to attract the attentions of predatory species like kingfish or to quickly reset the drop during a hot bite.
